Coaches Corner
Thanks for stepping up to coach! Follow the steps below and you’ll be ready for opening night.
All required fees are reimbursed by MCYH each January once certifications are verified.
1. Apply (New Coaches Only)
- Complete the MCYH Coach Application form.
- The Director of Coaching will review and confirm your placement.
2. Register

3. Certifications & Safety

| Age-Specific Module | Online module for each age group you coach found here | Complete before first practice |
| CEP Clinic | Level 1 (Yr 1), Level 2 (Yr 2), Level 3 (Yr 3) then renew Level 3 online every two years. Coaches who only coach 6U/8U may stay at Level 1. - Sign up | Attend by 12/31 |
| Background Check | Free through USA Hockey screening portal | Renew annually |
| SafeSport Training | Online refresher or full course found here | Renew annually |
4. Dress Code on Ice
- Coach’s jacket (provided) & wind pants
- Skates, stick, and hockey gloves
- Helmet, secured (mandatory)
5. Reimbursements (Automatic)
MCYH cuts one check in January covering:
- USA Hockey coach registration
- CEP clinic fees (Levels 1-3)
- Age-specific module fees
